[Warning: contains spoilers]
There is a magical operation of maximum importance: the initiation of a new Aeon. when it becomes necessary to utter a word the whole planet must be bathed in blood.~Kain
~The Hylden operation: (1)Manipulate Mortanius to kill Ariel. (2)Nupraptor assaults the rest of the human Circle of Nine. (3)Moebius manipulates Kain's destiny, avoiding the intended fate as Scion of Balance. (4)Kain refuses to sacrifice himself, thus vampires exist and the Hylden are free from the lock (pillars}
that binded them away from Nosgoth in the demon realm. (5)Imbalance destroys
the 'future' Nosgoth, the Ancients 'God' wants all vampires cleansed from the
land - sending Wraith Raziel out as his messenger to fulfill this task against
his 'brothers'. (6)The Hylden "Lord" defeats Wraith Raziel, leading too his submission into the Blood Reaver Kain carries during Defiance - making the
Scion of Balance purified to send Kain against the Ancients 'God'. (7)Hylden
can see into the timestream through some advanced technology,
1-6 are predetermined events.
~The planet must be bathed in blood: A vampiric harvest is required for the sustenance of the Scion of Balance's destiny (to take back the pillars from the humans), Kain fulfilled this much but not as expected. Kain is deified and
the Soul Reaver is a relic of much importance, to defeat the deceiver of the Ancients - their false 'God'.
I awoke to the pain of a new existence, in a dank womb of darkness and decay.~Kain
Becoming a vampire may have decayed his former noble body, the dank womb of darkness may be reference too the amateur uncomfort of being a nocturnal predator. The
pain is both physical and mental, as he is the Balance Guardian after Ariel -
thus inflicted with Nupraptor's assault on the rest of the Circle of Nine. Also, since the 'beginning' of this new existence - he has always had the scar from
his assassins and eventually the removal of the 'Heart of Darkness' placed back
into Janos by Raziel before his acceptance of being the ravenous spirit of the
Soul Reaver blade.
Nupraptor, with his blind act of vengeance threatened to destroy all of Nosgoth. Each Circle member was bonded to the Pillar he served. The Pillars reflected the mental state of their servants, and as the minds of the Circle degenerated and descended further into dementia, the Pillars crumbled. To restore them, each member of the Circle had to die, and the artifact that served as their link to the Pillar had to be returned. Only when all the Pillars were restored, did Ariel claim my curse would end. And so my hunt for Nupraptor began.~Kain
Ariel sent Kain to kill Nupraptor, her former lover. After the Sarafan killed Janos Audron, and stole the Blood Reaver - Vorador, once human servant of the Ancient winged race - slaughtered six of the circle of nine. Vorador's vengeance was complete later on, defeating Malek at "Dark Eden". These events may be linked by simply one thing: Kain's will to choose. As the Ancients 'God' claimed 'Kain's
fate mattered all along.'
The Blood of Ages flows so sweet. Come, drink from us.~Blood Fountain
Blood is life, Malek was a travestry without flesh - thus is something
sour too a vampire's struggle to survive. These fountains may have been
provided by the Ancients for the Vampire's Hero.
The rain will do you no harm, for our blood preserves.~Blood Fountain (?)
This blood may be enhanced or aligned with the elemental forge of Water which Raziel encounters later on - unearthing his destiny - of only having more questions.
The Guardians aligned with the Water element are States: Anarcrothe - killed
by Mortanius. Mortanius - killed by the balance guardian Kain.
Nupraptor’s Keep lay west of Vasserbünde. I would seek to cut the cancer from its heart.~Kain
Cancer Invasion: Sometimes tumors do not stay harmlessly in one place. They destroy the part of the body in which they originate and then spread to other parts where they start new growth and cause more destruction. Nupraptor's reclusive tactics separated the entire nine guardians, Kain brought them together by death with the exception of Ariel and maybe Moebius.
The Mentalist Nupraptor was renowned through Nosgoth for his tricks of the mind, telepathy and telekinesis. Pilgrims traveled from all across the land seeking the comfort of his lies. I sought not his wisdom but his life.~Kain
Northern people possibly came to visit Nupraptor, thus explaining William the
Just's involvement with 'southern' Nosgoth - and thus Kain. Moebius planned
the following events without a second thought.
From the depths of the Retreat’s eye sockets, I viewed Nosgoth in a
different fashion. The glass seemed to warp the image and taint the color.
As if Nosgoth needed assistance in making its corruption apparent.~Kain

Although the mentalist was blind by means of self-mutilation, his power had obviously extended to produce the outcome Kain saw looking through the eye sockets.
Death in the Circle breathes life to the Pillars. For every Pillar, there is a token; only with these shall they be restored. But to reach a warrior, you must first breach his ward. Find Malek and destroy him. Only then will the Circle fall.~Ariel
Ariel obviously did not know what Mortanius had done too the Guardian of the
pillar of conflict [connected to the Fire Forge-along with Bane the Druid of Nature].
Havoc and Malice, their presence in my hands keeps me from employing magic,
yet rest assured they do little to hamper my relish for slaughter.~Kain
Naming the axes may have been a reflection of Kain's vengeance, or Nosgoth relics that Malek kept in his bastion for display or a worthy opponent.
Ah, the lord returns empty handed. Does the Sarafan elude you? Very well, go east of Malek’s Bastion. The Oracle shall give you aid.~Ariel
This is where Ariel's spirit may have been most vulnerable too the Hylden's mechanics of arriving back in Nosgoth entirely. She wouldn't be 'possessed', only given a fragmented lie too guide Kain into Moebius' trap against the vampire 'scourge'.
Oh, little vampire, the game grows interesting. But with so many pawns, can you find the true player?~Mortanius
This is an interesting quote. a human guardian is calling Kain 'little' as does the "Unspoken" later on. Mortanius is obviously being used as a host when saying this.
the 'true player' might as well be Raziel (Sarafan, Vampire, or Wraith), he has
not found the Sarafan Tomb/Stronghold as of yet - thus hasn't founded 'the true player'.
I recognized this crest from my youth. ‘Tis the sigil of the Mighty Lion of Willendorf, bloodstained and rusted upon this battered shield.~Kain
Here, Kain is in Moebius' museum. The shield is from the 'future' where
'The Nemesis' has killed the Lion of Willendorf, King Ottmar.
Hidden amidst the many obscure artifacts in that museum, I discovered an ancient chronicle. This passage caught my eye: 'It was during these dark times infested with the plague of the undead, that the Circle brought the Sarafan to existence. Trained to be devoutly loyal to the Circle, and the perfect exterminators of the undead scourge, they were led to many victories by the righteous paladin, Malek. They cleansed the vampires with fire, and released their souls to more blessed realms. There is no wrath as terrible as that of the righteous.' I had read enough. At
once disgusted and intrigued, I placed the book back down in that museum.~Kain
The Circle (Six Guardians+ Moebius, Mortanius, and eventually Malek) brought
the Sarafan into existence. This hints how Raziel's destiny runs alongside
Kain's, and the irony of removing memories only to ensure that his empire
will be successful. As well as, the thought of vampiric Sarafan - without
Malek involved 100%.
A guillotine, its blade still wet with blood. ~Kain [BO]
Another shred of evidence from the 'future' where Moebius' crusaders behead
Vorador as Kain returns too the 'present' time line.
Odd. This armor resembled that of the Ward and his minions. Yet, the steel seemed newly fashioned and untarnished by time.~Kain [BO]

Vorador, before his beheading - finally defeated Malek, Guardian of Conflict and the Circle of Nine. No helm is seen, thus 'future' Kain took it too the pillar as a token successfully.
A pox upon your tricks and babble, old man! Answer me this:
Who is Malek and how can I defeat him?~Kain
All in time sirrah. Yes, time. Unless you master it, it will master you.~Moebius
Moebius is very old, and possibly the murderer of the vampire Guardian of Time who may think of Wraith Raziel, being blue skinned; shares some loyalty similar to his millennium of serving Kain - which is false. The next quote can and does work for and against both Kain and the human time streamer:
(1)Moebius uses the Soul Reaver to send Kain too the 'past', giving him time too form his crusade with the dead king's people. He is logically The Nemesis here, before Kain replaces him - who thinks that the 'future' Nemesis is actually William the Just as he has been told.
(2) Moebius also attempts to make sure Wraith Raziel doesn't enter the Blood
Reaver, which contradicts William actually possessing a duplicate Soul Reaver.
This contradiction, makes his focus on Kain very moral and less survelliance
even with the Ancient's 'God' involved, whose probably wanting to use the Hylden
to feed on for his 'wheel of fate.'
The Ignis Fatuus lights the path to Hell, nobleman. Your path.~Moebius
Moebius may be referring too Vorador as 'the path', Kain will be in the demon dimension (below the pillars) later on, thus 'hell'. However, the time streamer doesn't foresee that Kain no longer possesses the 'Heart of Darkness' and assumes
he is still 'dead'.
Vorador’s pantry! A vampire’s feast! Like cattle awaiting slaughter, men and women dangled from the rusted hooks upon the dungeon walls, blood and viscera frosted the dirt and stone. The abundance nearly overwhelmed me. For blood is the life.~Kain
These human cattle, are most likely the majority of his own home town Coorhagen.
As he grows more vampiric, all arrogance that can be stirred and shared - will be done.
The room I had entered had but one purpose - the torture and execution of human beings for the sadistic pleasure of its engineer. Blood was splattered on every surface. The dread and agony of victims past still echoed through the lethal walls. A symphony of terror and agony filled the air. Then, from amidst the cacophony of screaming souls came the perverse laughter of the vampire himself , and upon the wall, scrawled in blood, were the words: Manus Celer Dei. (The swift hand of God)~Kain
This is apparently the only other deity opposing the Hylden and the Ancients 'God'.
If Vorador gathered a rebellion this early with Kain, possibly Umah (Sarafan?) as well as Janos Audron with the Blood Reaver, defeating the Nemesis and it's army
via guerrilla warfare with King Ottmar and his 'Army of Hope' as a substitute target - all of King William's people will be sacrificed, but 'southern' Nosgoth would be able to launch an attack on the 'north' to a point of political agreement to sustain the pillars of Nosgoth.
Assuming Moebius is literally the Nemesis in the first place, although the above
is intelligent and maybe a longer method of 'victory' - it's unlikely that a corrupt human Guardian will comply with nomadic vampires. Do you think the torture chamber is the 'hand' or Vorador? I won't argue your selection but would like to understand why because of his vital importance defeating the last living Sarafan, Malek.
Vorador's Ring: Turning the ring over in my hands, I realized that it was
crafted from some strange alloy formed from broken teeth, ground down and
soaked in blood.~Kain
The teeth may have been from his past 'brides', the female physical essence
was most likely mixed with the cattle blood.
If it could be said that a land descended into madness, would be an accurate account of Dark Eden. A garden of horrors, seeded with sick perversion of nature’s design. I knew that this Dark Eden I had trespassed upon would continue to grow, until all of Nosgoth was consumed.~Kain
It was simply 'Eden" beforehand, i guess. DeJoule and Bane worked together altering the 'natural' world too an even worse state. They were this plots 'Adam' and 'Eve'
and Moebius is a snake for purposefully avoiding allot of the other guardians after assaulting the Ancient Vampire Guardians with the help of Mortanius.
Avernus was a religious autocracy, with the Cathedral as its dais of power. Though the city lay in ruins, the Cathedral remained untouched. The demons knew better than to bite the hand that feeds them.~Kain
-An autocracy is a form of government in which the political power is held by a single self appointed ruler. It was switched from Azimuth too Mortanius, before he died by Kain. The demons, most likely Hylden appreciate all hosts including their enemy (the Ancients/Janos).
Time fades even legend, and the origin of the Soul Reaver has been lost long ago.
But its purpose remains to feed on the souls of any creature it strikes. Kindred, this blade and I.~Kain
-The word 'kindred' defines similarity it therefore implies plurality. Kain was probably philosophizing his vampire existence here, feeding on souls being relative to digesting the blood (life) of mortals. This blade, his personal sword may have caused his skin to harden because of the spirit Inside also feeling cold, empty,
and lacking trust for hardly anyone beyond it's "master". Raziel being in purgatory,
at the point after slaughtering his Sarafan self and leaving Moebius' Stronghold
too eventually meet Vorador before his execution.
The Matriarch of Avernus, the Lady Azimuth: her magical planing skills summoned demons through runes inscribed in human blood.~Kain
She is a Necromantic-Religious-Puppet. Moebius left a time streaming device here on purpose - for Turel's arrival from the 'future' - and Kain's arrival in the 'past' to cure the problem Moebius invented with 'poor' King William.
Strange, isn’t it Kain? That one cannot quite accept that which sustains him:
you in your death and me in mine. death cannot reign in a world without life and
soon you will find the quest ahead of you is yours and yours alone. I can assist
you no longer.~Mortanius
Kain had accepted the result. Kain raised the Sarafan thus bringing life ('unlife'?) too the world after banishing the Hylden back too the demon dimension. Mortanius could not assist Kain any longer because: Anarcrothe called him too the pillars
or Raziel was arriving to find the 'Heart of Darkness' after consuming Turel's Hylden-influenced soul.
Reading a book in the library: The book spoke of the birth of the Circle. The Circle served the Pillars, protectorates to the strange power that gives life to our land. At the unlikely death of a member, the Circle remains broken for a time, until the Pillars can cull a worthy successor. I came upon another book of interest buried deep amongst the library’s tomes. It spoke of a small cult that existed in Nosgoth, ages past. Wherever they traveled strange tales of human possession would follow. Little is known of the god they worshiped.~Kain
-A protectorate nation is a nation with a poor military and general unrest among
the ethnic groups. Malek was poorly defending the Circle, because Moebius kept
him at bay with the Wraith Raziel and the Blood Reaver. This is the point where
6 Guardians died and all the Sarafan were killed by Wraith Raziel with the exception of the Conflict Guardian Malek. This speaks either of humans worshiping the Ancients 'God' or serving vampires with a passion or affection of some sort, Vorador may
have been involved with King Willendorf as well but I cannot 'prove' that.
The soul is mine, I earned it, Ottmar gave it to me.~Elzevir
Then you shall earn it with blood!~Kain
Kain seems to have trouble with seeing offspring in a catatonic state, as does King Ottmar. The doll maker was obviously very perverse (human?), and possibly could have been a Circle Guardian, but the pillars apparently
did not select him.
Strange that such a tiny thing, a shred of burlap and silk with a single lock of hair nailed to it, could bring a kingdom to its knees. Small things frequently
have enormous consequences.~Kain
Kain faced no enormous consequence beyond retrieving back his destiny as the
Scion of Balance and banishing the Ancients 'God' from below the land.
The Nemesis and his Horde fall upon us, my friend. I fear I can defend Nosgoth
no longer. The Nemesis must be destroyed. For my daughter, Kain; for the world.
~King Ottmar
This is the turning point where the Soul Reaver becomes a plot device.
Moebius brought the repaired Soul Reaver from William's Sarcoughagus in
the 'future' and gave it too the young boy king. It shatters (via paradox),
and Kain holds onto it until his campaign of ruling Nosgoth is complete, thus breaking his personal sword over Wraith Raziel (another paradox).
The wraith blade is released & as Wraith Raziel had repaired it back at William's Sarcoughagus, it becomes the Blood Reaver (for 'future' Kain) and the duplicate temporary Soul Reaver the 'Nemesis' will use to conquer all of Nosgoth.
As his guards rushed to save him, William the Just’s blood was already renewing my strength, replacing the life his sword had stolen from my veins. The poor fools, come to aid their fallen leader. Let us have some amusement.~Kain
Kain's Soul Reaver (with the wraith blade inside) may have sapped some of William's blood - as Raziel would get revenge for the fallen king (as well as sparing Kain) and his cast into the abyss, where traitors and weaklings were sent. Raziel was obviously aware of what the others had to face as they were forcefully descended
for not obeying under Kain's rule of the 'future'.
A Time Streaming Device! Strange.
When coincidence seems too convenient,
I prefer to call it fate.~Kain
This is the second device found and developed by
Moebius (or someone within his crusade).
I make no pretense to justify my killing. Yet these vampire hunters would
cloak their their blood lust beneath a veil of righteousness. Hypocrites!
They would make themselves judge and jury. Very well, then. Let us see how
they take to my role as executioner.~Kain
Kain obviously had no intention to kill William, however it was that or allow
the Nemesis (Moebius?) to take full control over Nosgoth as Oracle and Adversary.
I had been betrayed. In my haste, I had not realized it before. That sigil on his forehead. The Oracle of Nosgoth was in fact the Time Streamer Moebius. And I had followed his advice! How much of my quest was of his design? Willendorf? The Battle of the Last Stand? William the Just? Was this the trap he had fashioned for me?~Kain
The answer is The Battle of the Last Stand (i.e The Nemesis), well i think so at least. he designed the defeat of Ottmar most importantly for the removal of King William - thus leaving his people in the hands of the Time streamer.
Well done, Kain. Ah, Moebius did so love playing the trickster’s part. His guise as the Oracle served his schemes well. Pity with all his plots he failed to plan for you. Come to me, my undead son. Make haste to the Pillars; the stage is set for the grand finale. You will have your vengeance.~Mortanius
This is most likely where Kain adopted his fatherly state for the vampiric Sarafan to help him establish rule over the imbalanced land of Nosgoth. Also, Mortanius knows that he must die by Kain and thus has no problem trusting the nobleman to finish off the human Guardians once and for all. He may have also spoke of the 'grand finale' because Kain must defeat the 'demonic' Hylden constantly possessing
his body (and later, Janos').
I serve no one!~Kain
Indeed. Such narrow vision. Don’t you see? My silencing of Ariel, and its calculated repercussions, is but the first act in my theater of Grand Guignol. Of which you
are the tragic ”hero.” Play on, little vampire, play on.~The 'Unspoken'
The Hylden wanted an anti-hero to serve them, Raziel didn't concretely do so and
Kain was trapped within their grasp of causing a destructive side-effect because
he refused to sacrifice himself.
Once I embraced my powers I realized that Vorador was correct. We are gods - dark gods - and it is our duty to thin the herd.~Kain [BO]
-'thinning the herd'=weak elements must be rid of in order for survival. Ancients are not 'weak', human vampires maybe considered 'weak' if they don't evolve. Hylden are not 'weak' since they no longer have corpses to inhabit, Sarafan are 'weak'.
